Our standard recording device for these systems is the Physiac(tm), notebook computer based data acquisition system.

Example :

Identification of paroxysmal events in pertussis - Paroxysmal events are characterized by physiologic changes as well as by distinctive patterns of coughing. Using our Physiac system, the standard physiological variables of breathing, heart rate, and oxygen saturation are monitored, as well as special audio variables, which are used to detect the paroxysmal coughing spells.

The audio variables include two channels of preprocessed digitized audio as well as a computer labeled analog recording of the event. The Physiac controls the audio recording via a custom audio processing unit so that only specific audio events are recorded. The analog recording is tied by an event log to the rest of the physiological records allowing exact correlation of the audio recordings to physiological events such as apnea, bradycardia, or oxygen desaturation.

This monitoring provides not only an accurate count of the number of paroxysmal events, as defined by the audio records, but also a characterization of those events as to whether they included apnea, bradycardia, or oxygen desaturation.

Data Analysis Services

We develop custom data analysis programs.

This includes programs for reading in data, displaying and printing tables or graphs of data, displaying and printing strip charts of data, and analyzing data.

We can develop special analysis modules to be incorporated in your current analysis suite, or we can develop an entire analysis program from GUI to data algorithm.

Programming languages include Visual Basic, Visual C++, C, Fortran, HTML, perl, and java.

Physio Analytics also provides fee for service analysis of data using either your programs or our programs.
